Catharsis vs. Cathexis
'Catharsis' means 'to get rid of' or 'to disperse'.
In the early 1970s, Arthur Janov introduced Primal Therapy as a cathartic process for re-experiencing childhood pain through feeling it rather than through conceptual analysis. The central practice was Primal Screams.
Around the same time, a man named Bhagwan Shri Rajneesh (later known as Osho), began promoting 'Dynamic Meditation', an emotionally cathartic practice that became very popular with Westerners.
For several decades, the long-held concept that there are 'negative' or 'bad' feelings such as anger, sadness, and fear, and only one 'positive' or 'good' feeling, which is joy, was combined with Primal Scream and Dynamic Meditation and for a time became a movement in the personal development world, leaving ripples that still influence people's thinking today.
However, simply because a concept can be easily understood does not mean it has any relationship to reality.
The assumption that the human Emotional Body's immense capacity for feeling Feelings, Emotions and Mixed Emotions is a design error may be a false assumption.
In the beginning practices and exercises of Possibility Management, we make no assumption that the Emotional Body is a design error. This allowed us to discovers that developing our capacity to Consciously Feel is the gateway to whole new territories of possibility, such as: Emotional Healing Processes, Inner Navigation, Whole Permaculture, Torus Technologies, New Refugees, 3 Phase Healing, Stellating Feelings Archetypes, Feelings Practitioner Training, authentic Adulthood Initiatory processes, and Archetypal Transformations.
Distinguishing the immense differences between Feelings and Emotions, and embracing feelings energies and information as a valuable resource of energy and clarity needed daily in Adulthood, starts with reorienting away from Catharsis and towards 'Cathexis'.
'Cathexis' means 'to contain, recycle, re-aim, and consciously apply', in this case, Emotional Energies.
The instructions are, "Hold the emotional energy in and let it inform you. Do not allow your Gremlin to throw it away. Let emotional energy and information circulate around in all 5 Bodies. Use this energy to build new Matrix, make Choices, Flow Power, make Proposals, Hold Space, Navigate Space, take Radical Responsibility, Go Nonlinear," etc.
We discovered that Feelings and Emotions are not design errors from Gaia, but rather are precious resources of energy and information needed for fulfilling your Destiny and delivering the services of your Archetypal Lineage to the Village.
Specifically, "Feelings are for handling things. Emotions are for healing things."
A Transformational Process is Cathexis
Emotional Healing Processes delivered in the context of Possibility Coaching, using the distinctions of Possibility Management that emerges from Radical Responsibility use the process of Cathexis and NOT of Catharsis.
Feelings are for handling things. Emotions are for healing things.
An emotional healing process is NOT catharsis. Catharsis is blowing out, releasing the energy of feelings and emotions, so that they seems gone, out of our body. Catharsis provides no transformation, simply a release. In no less than one hour, the feelings and emotions will have built up back again in your 5-bodies.
Transforming alchemically emotions in Processes for growing up and healing is 'cathectic' rather than 'cathartic'. Cathexis is the process of containing, recycling, re-aiming, and consciously using Emotional Energies, in comparison with Catharsis, which is the process of expressing, expelling, trying to use up and get rid of supposedly negative, excess, or useless
The instructions for Cathexis are, "Hold the energy in. Do not allow your Gremlin to throw it away. Let the energy circulate around in all 5 of your Bodies. Build the Matrix to run this much energy through your Bodies."
What we have found is that Feelings and Emotions are not design errors from Gaia, but rather are precious resources of energy and information needed for fulfilling your Destiny and delivering the services of your Archetypal Lineage to the Village.
Through Cathectic Processes you can learn Inner Navigating as part Conscious Feelings.
Then your Emotional Energy can be directed towards healing, Building Matrix, Authentic Adulthood Initiations, and Archetypal Transformations.

Every day for a week, go to a space where you can easily listen to people talking. This could be a café, bar, waiting room, or public transportation.
Just listen to what people are talking about. How are they expressing what they are expressing?What phrases, what images, what ideas and imaginations are they using?
When did what they are talking about happen? In the past, in the present, or in the future?
Become especially alert when they talk about feelings.
What assumptions about feelings do you hear? What beliefs?
What feelings do you notice in people as they talk?
What do you think they perceive? What do they not perceive?What are you not noticing?

Create a space for yourself where you can be loud.
Use the feeling of anger to experiment.
Start by expressing your anger with the idea that you want to get rid of it so that it no longer bothers you.
Imagine blowing the anger out in the process and it leaving you. You express it and push it out of you at the same time. Do that for three minutes.
This is catharsis.
Then take a break for an hour and during the break write down what you experienced.
What do you feel? Can you still feel anger in your body? What do you think about the experiment?
What perception do you have in your physical body?
What do you perceive in your energetic body? What is it made of now? How big is it?When an hour has passed, do the second part of the experiment. Do it again for 3 minutes.
This time go into your anger, imagining that it is circulating in your energetic body all the time and that you can consciously use this precious energy.Anger is an energy that points like a forefinger to what does not work for you right now.
Anger is neither good nor bad, there is no reason to want to get rid of it.

Assume that anger is always alive in you and that there is a smaller or larger level of anger in you all the time. Zero percent anger is a story, though it's worth taking a closer look at that story. But that's another experiment.
For this experiment, ramp up your anger to 6 percent and take a walk.
Let the anger circulate inside you as you walk and let it inform you.
Anger is a pointing finger, an energy that points to what is not working for you right now.
What is the finger pointing at?What do you see, do you perceive?
What does your anger inform you about?
From time to time, sit down with your Beep! Book and write down what the finger is pointing at: The trash on the street, the dead forest, the monoculture in the fields, the plastic in the supermarket....
All the while, observe how high your anger is. Now and now and now.The level will not stay permanently at 6 percent.

In this experiment, find out what the other three feelings of fear, sadness, and joy point to.
Drive one of the three feelings at a time to a higher level. It works well if the feeling you want to explore is the one with the highest level in each case.

SQUEEZE A LEMON WITH ANGER UNTIL YOU CAN'T GET A SINGLE DROP OF JUICE OUT

Buy a lemon and cut it in half. The lemon juice is probably not in a bubble or deposit in the lemon, but it is distributed throughout the lemon.
Try to see the juice in the cut surfaces, where is it actually?
Start squeezing the lemon. You may use your whole body to do this.
Use your anger to squeeze the juice.
What percentage of anger do you need to start squeezing?
Try 3 percent anger.
Try 15 percent anger.
Try 42 percent anger.
Keep putting the lemon half down in between and take a few breaths. Pendulum your anger to the next level.Variation:
Choose to imagine that the anger completely leaves your body while squeezing the lemon half. You get rid of all your anger. With each drop of juice that comes out of the lemon, your anger leaves you and drips out of you.
How far can you squeeze the lemon? Can you get all the juice out? I'm talking about 100 percent juice. No?And how much of your anger can you squeeze out? All of it? 100 percent?

Become very observant when you throw something away and pause for a moment.

What is the feeling pointing to?
Notice how the feeling continues to circulate within you as you eventually throw the object away.

My Gremlin quite likes the idea that I can get rid of the feelings / emotions.
For many years of my life, he has kept me on a leash with this, that anger and fear in particular are best kept far away from me.
It could be that your Gremlin has valuable information about where in your body you have buried feelings/emotions that should not be allowed to circulate and inform you. So talk to your Gremlin.
Find a partner (Person A) to do an interview with. For this, choose a person who can hold space for you and your feelings/emotions.
You take the role of your Gremlin, who will be interviewed by Person A.
You yourself (your being) do not take part in the interview. The interviewer only talks to your Gremlin.
Be sure to record the interview because it may contain valuable golden keys for your next Emotional Healing Processes and you should not write during the interview.
Find out together what feelings were not allowed to be alive when you were a child.
Why was it so dangerous to feel?
What did Gremlin do with the feelings/emotions? What stories did he make up?
Where in your body are those emotions still stuck?
Be sure to start the interview by saying, "Hello name Gremlin. May I ask you a few questions?"Person A can negotiate the terms of an interview with the Gremlin.
If Gremlin does not give you permission to ask him, choose another experiment.

Develop this morning routine for yourself and do it for three months.
Immediately after waking up and definitely before getting up do the following:
- Welcome your anger that is in your body. Send your anger into your bones. The bones are the resonant tissue for the anger. Declare that the anger is spreading throughout your bones. This includes your teeth, including your fingernails.Anger into the bones.
- Welcome your sadness that is in your body. Send your sadness into the soft tissues and the fluid tissues. Into the organs, the skin, the fluids like the blood and the lymph.Sadness into the soft and fluid tissues.
- Welcome your fear that is in your body. Send your fear into the nervous system. This includes your brain, your spinal cord, and all the nerve pathways that run very finely throughout your body.Fear into your nervous system.
- Welcome your joy that is in your body. The resonant tissue of joy is the cells. There is joy in every single cell of your body.
